Pre Hardrock 100

I've been in Colorado for the last week. Cell phone and email access has been scarce, but I have managed to get this post up just before the race. My bib number is 146. Live updates can be checked starting 0600 Friday Mountain Time.

Matt Kirk and I have been in the mountains in both the Mosquito Range and the San Juan Range. We climbed a few fourteeners (Mt. Lincoln, Mt. Bross, Mt. Cameron, and Mt. Democrat). While in Silverton I heard of a mountain by the name of Sultan Mountain. It was a must, we climbed it 3 days ago.

I am in good health, high spirits, and surrounded by both amazing mountains and amazing people. Tomorrow I will begin the toughest adventure to date, and hope to finish strong.

A more detailed report will follow whence I return back to sea level!

PS, check out the front page of the NY Times today, an article about a runner that's doing Hardrock this year.

I am here at the HR 100 and Mohammed finished the race in a fantastic time of about 38.5 hours placing in the top 40 finishers. Way to go MI!!!

Still plenty of racers out on the course in the black of night... crazy!
